The City of Fort St. John Council will be considering a request for a Temporary Use Permit to permit the Tank Farm use on a M-1 Light Industrial zoned property, located at 9604 73 Avenue.
The Applicant is seeking to develop a Tank Farm consisting of six (6) 125 m3 vertical flammable CAN/ULC S601 tanks with a containment berm and six (6) 75 m3 double walled horizontal target tanks, with built-in containment. The company, SECURE Specialty Chemicals Corporation, blends over 1000 different products for oil and gas production, and the chemicals stored will all have the same general hazards. All chemicals used will be flammable due to the requirement for winterization with solvent, and some may be corrosive and/or toxic.
City Council will hear comments from the public at their regular Council Meeting on April 13, 2026 in City Hall Council Chambers at 3:00 pm.
