The Mayor's Standing Committee on Community Economic Development was established by Council to support community economic development.
The committee's role, as the catalysts, is to work with local organizations, partners, and other levels of government to prepare the community for the future. It is the City’s role to realize the vision of the community embedded in the Official Community Plan. It is widely known and acknowledged that the City of Fort St John is the major service centre in the North Peace and its economy is dependent on the industries that are, for the most part, outside the jurisdictional boundaries of the city.
