Local government elections in BC are held every four years on the third Saturday in October. Our next general local election will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, with advance voting opportunities on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, and Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
2026 Local Government General Election
As the election approaches, more details about where to vote, voter eligibility, and what voters can expect on voting day will be added.
Voting in an election is one of the most important things a citizen can do, as it strengthens our democracy, builds a stronger community, and ensures that all voices are heard in government. Best of all, voting takes only a few minutes, every four years.
City of Fort St. John eligible voters will vote for:
- One (1) Mayor
- Six (6) Councillors
- Three (3) School District 60 Board Trustees
- Borrowing assent question on the proposed new Aquatics Facility
