Community Forest remains closed until further notice

Caution tape and signs will remain up at trail entrances to the forest until it is safe for the public to use the trails again. Security staff will also be patrolling the area to ensure people are respecting the closure.
Winds may increase Fish Creek fire activity today

Crews continue to work on containing the fire perimeter and hotspots today. Fire breaks east of the Community Forest are being cleared without the aid of machinery due to the challenging steep terrain.

The Fort St. John RCMP, along with the Fort St. John Fire Department, are investigating several fires that have occurred over the past two months.
Eight fires have been reported between February 22, 2025, and April 27, 2025, and evidence gathered to date suggests that the fires were intentionally set. Several of the fires have occurred in recreational areas.
