Planning for the annual Canada Day Celebrations is in full swing and we have lots of ways for the businesses and local non-profit organizations to get involved in the festivities and promote their organizations to the entire community!
Micro grants
The City of Fort St. John invites local businesses and non-profit organizations to open their doors and offer family friendly activities for residents to enjoy on July 1. The City of Fort St. John will provide a one-time micro grant of $500 dollars up to a maximum of $1,000 per business or non-profit to cover the expenses of an approved activity offered to the entire community. Deadline to apply is Wednesday, June 11. Apply for a Micro grant online.
Event Sponsorship
Take advantage of the upcoming festivities and sign your business up as an official event partner or sponsor! All partners and sponsors will be included in the event marketing and receive recognition on City of Fort St. John media platforms. Sign up to sponsor the Canada Day celebrations.
Enter a Parade Float
The City of Fort St. John is extending an invitation to local organization and businesses to celebrate this great nation and show off your national pride by decorating a float for the parade! Application deadline is June 23 at 8 am, visit the event webpage for all the parade details.
Be a Food Vendor
It’s not a Canada Day without great food and refreshing drinks. Organizations wanting to participate in Centennial Park as a food vendor can sign up.
In addition to the above items, the Canada Day Celebrations also include a pancake breakfast at the Fire Hall and a variety of activities in Centennial Park and Festival Plaza. Due to the ongoing Category 2 & 3 fire ban in the entire region, the City of Fort St. John will not be able to host the Canada Day Fireworks.
