The City of Fort St. John and the Fort St. John Association for Community Living are working together on a potential housing project for the downtown core on the remainder of the old Fort St. John Hospital site. Previously, the City sold a portion of the old Hospital site to VRS Communities to develop a 115-unit senior housing complex.

Earlier this week, Council's Response Committee on Housing and Emergency Shelter, comprised of Councillor MacDougall, Councillor Klassen and Councillor Bolin, conducted a business walk to discuss the impacts of crime, shoplifting, and mischief on local businesses in our community.

Council's Response Committee meets with RCMP

Council's Response Committee on Housing and Emergency Shelter (CRCHES) is actively collaborating with community partners to develop long-term, sustainable solutions to address homelessness in Fort St. John. The Committee, comprising Councillors Bolin, Klassen, and MacDougall, recently met with Staff Sergeant Watson and Sergeant Croll, two experienced RCMP officers who are long-term community residents.
