The RoadShow is a fully funded talent attraction program designed to introduce individuals, particularly underrepresented groups, to career opportunities in road building and heavy civil construction. We travel across BC with a 36-ft trailer equipped with state-of-the-art simulators for road building and highway maintenance equipment. Our goal is to provide hands-on experiences that allow participants to ‘test drive’ what a career in this industry might be like. The program is open to students, youth, newcomers, veterans, Indigenous communities, women, and others exploring career pathways.
This initiative is completely free, as it is funded by a grant through the Canada-BC Labour Market Development Agreement, administered by the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction. We are planning on travelling to the Fort St John in July, and I’d love to chat further to see if we could collaborate on bringing the RoadShow to job seekers to get them interested in a career in the road building and highway maintenance industry.
