For the first time in Fort St. John, we are hosting a drone light show! Hundreds of drones will light up the sky and dazzle us with their artistic display of lights.

The Fire Department is welcoming everyone back to the Hall to enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast. This is by donation only and is first-come, first-serve for food. Don’t wait  - get your flapjacks before they’re gone!

Note: There will not be any parking available at the fire hall. 

BYO bag and shop local with artisans, farmers, hand-makers from our region. From hand-crafted goods, jewelry, treats, and other locally sourced goods, there’s sure to be something for everyone! It’s the perfect stop before the parade begins. 

Start your engines for the annual Classic Cruisers Car show! Take in a spectacle of amazing machines on 100 Street between 93 and 96 Ave. Just a reminder to talk to the owners before touching the vehicles or getting too close during the pictures! 

Celebrate Canada Day in true community spirit at our annual Canada Day Parade!
Find your spot on 100 Street with family and friends to enjoy a vibrant procession of floats, performers, community groups, and more—all proudly showcasing our city. Wear your red and white, wave your flags, and join us for a morning full of music, colour, and Canadian pride.

Don't forget to be early! Pre-parade entertainment starts at 10 am along 100 Street.

Don’t miss this joyful kickoff to a day of celebration! 

• Affected Roads: 100 Street from 111 Ave to 93 Avenue

• Closure Times: Starting at 7am on 100 Street between 93 and 96 Avenue for the FSJ Classic Cruiser’s Car Show, then 100 Street from the marshalling area at 111 Ave at 9am, down to the de-marshalling area at the Old Fort Motors Parking Lot at 93 Ave.

• Detour Routes: (For Alternative Routes use the Alaska Highway, 108 Street, 96 Street, 93 Steet, 86 Street, 119 Avenue, Northern Lights Drive, and 116 Street) 

• Traffic Management: Energetic Traffic Control and the City of Fort St. John, and North Peace Search and Rescue Volunteers will be in the Parade and Centennial Park areas to help work with vehicles and pedestrians. 

• Parking Restrictions: North Peace Leisure Pool Parking lot will be used for food vendors, farmer’s market vendors, accessible parking, Indigenous Elders, staff, and volunteers. 

• Alternative Parking: Use alternative Recreation Campus Parking, including Pomeroy Sport Centre, Fort St. John Curling Club, Kids Arena Fieldhouse, and North Peace Arena Parking.  

Alternative Transportation: 

• Walking, Cycling, or Public Transit 

• Potential Transit Delays: Delays and disruptions will occur on the Parade Route and area, including 98 Street, 100 Street, 96 Avenue, and Recreation Campus Areas. 

Safety and Public Information: 

• Safety Precautions: Be aware of congested vehicle and pedestrian traffic along the parade route, in the marshalling areas and at Recreation Campus and Centennial Park.

The Peace Country Rentals Kid Zone will be located close to the accessible playground and will feature a variety of free activities, including:

• Mini golf with the Fort St. John Public Library

Explore the historical buildings at the Fort St. John North Peace Museum this Canada Day while doing a brand-new scavenger hunt featuring local wildlife and wildlife-related artefacts! Choose a prize after completing your scavenger hunt! 

The North Peace Historical Society invites you to connect to local history through free admission to our buildings and our indoor museum exhibits. We have a new special temporary exhibit developed by the Charlie Lake Conservation Society. Science Is All Around Us: The Importance of Citizen Science looks at the work done by Citizen Scientists today from mapping to monitoring watersheds and from nature journaling to using apps. Discover the hands-on activities in the Kid Zone!
