City Thanks Pomeroy Lodging for 15+ Years of Community Support

The City of Fort St. John extends its sincere thanks to Pomeroy Lodging for more than 15 years of partnership through the naming rights of the Pomeroy Sport Centre, a cornerstone community facility serving residents and visitors from across the region.

The Pomeroy Sport Centre is Fort St. John’s flagship recreation and event facility and a primary gathering place for sport, wellness, and community life. The three‑floor facility features two NHL‑sized ice rinks, one of only three indoor Olympic‑sized long‑track speed skating ovals in Canada, and the 340‑metre Northern Vac Track, supporting a wide range of local, regional, and national programs and events.

“The long-standing support from Pomeroy Lodging has made a meaningful difference for our community,” said Mayor Lilia Hansen. “Their commitment to Fort St. John reflects a genuine investment in the people who live, work, and play here. On behalf of City Council and our community, we thank Pomeroy Lodging for their support over the past 15 years.”

The City values partnerships with local and regional businesses that enhance public spaces and community services. Naming rights partnerships play an important role in supporting City-owned recreational assets and in helping ensure they remain welcoming, vibrant, and accessible to residents.

Looking ahead, the City of Fort St. John will be issuing a Naming Rights Request for Proposals to identify naming rights partners for several City-owned recreational assets, including the Pomeroy Sport Centre.
