Canada Post Strike Impacts

City Alert

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (C.U.P.W.) has moved from a full, national strike to rotating strikes. Canada Post advises that during rotating strikes, it will accept, process and deliver mail and parcels in unaffected areas, but that customers can still expect mail delivery delays.

The City of Fort St. John reminds community members that they are still responsible for submitting all time-sensitive payments and applications on time. Items received late are subject to penalty or interest.

Utility Bills

September utility bills are available for pickup at City Hall. Drop by and say hi to our friendly staff. As usual, bills must be paid by October 31 to avoid penalties.

Paying your Utilities Bill

Call us at 250-794-3321 to get your balance owing.

Accounts Payable

Vendors can enroll to receive payment by electronic funds transfer (EFT). Once enrollment is complete and verified, funds owing will be deposited to the vendor’s bank account when the invoice is due, and a remittance detailing the amounts paid will be sent to the vendor.

To receive funds by EFT, request an EFT form from our Accounts Payable team.

Development Permit Applications & Public Hearing Notices

Statutory notice of Public Hearings will be fulfilled by posting signs on site, notice on the City’s website and social media channels, and others as necessary to fulfill legislated requirements. The City will also consider alternative delivery methods to ensure residents are provided notice, as needed.
