Fort St. John Mayor, Lilia Hansen, has shared the following statement in response to the recent Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia Deployment in the Peace Region:

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) and the RCMP detachments in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John for their recent collaborative efforts to enhance public safety in our region.

These outcomes of this deployment represent a substantial step forward in the ongoing efforts to disrupt gang-related activities and reduce the presence of illegal drugs in our communities. The safety and well-being of our residents are of paramount importance, and such proactive enforcement actions are vital in maintaining the peace and security we all value.

I commend the dedication and professionalism of all officers involved in this operation. Their commitment to protecting our communities does not go unnoticed, and we deeply appreciate their service.

Fort St. John remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all residents. We will continue to support and collaborate with law enforcement agencies to ensure that our city remains a place where everyone feels secure and supported.”
