Project Description
Phase one of a multi-year project to perform condition assessment on the City's sanitary sewer mains.
During this phase, contracted crews will flush sewer mains and conduct video inspections in approximately one-third of the city.
During flushing, here is what you can expect:
- Toilets, sinks, and other appliances can still be used
- Air pressure in the sewer system can create noise in pipes & may cause water to splash out of toilets, sinks, or drains
- Keep toilet lids closed, and sink drains plugged when not in use to help avoid spills
- Sewer cleaning can create odours - open windows and run water down drains for a few minutes
- No chemicals are used, only high-pressure water
