Budget

Project Description

Upgrades to the underground utilities, installation of new sidewalks and streetlighting, and a complete rebuild of the road along 89 Avenue. Phase 2 will see between 81a and 86 streets completed.

Detour Map

After several weeks of work on the project using a horizontal drilling method to install the new water main, which allowed one lane of traffic to remain open, the project will now require temporary road closures moving from 81a Street towards 86 Street as properties are connected to the new water main.

A few sections of the watermain must be installed using traditional excavation methods before connecting to each property. Then, each property will be connected to the new watermain in small sections, moving east to west along 89 Ave.

Access to the Evangelical Church and Duncan Cran School will always be maintained, with access currently from the west.

BC Transit will see changes to Route 2 & 4; learn more here.
