Help recognize outstanding people in Fort St. John by nominating an exceptional person, business or community group! The Community Awards allows us to publicly recognize and honour individuals whose talents, dedication and generosity have contributed greatly to life in Fort St. John.

There are four award categories available for nominations, view the category descriptions.

Prefer to complete the nomination form on paper? Pick up a copy at City Hall, the North Peace Leisure Pool or Pomeroy Sport Centre and return it to City Hall.

What makes this person, business, or community group exceptional. Activities must have been performed in the last year. Be thorough, as your description will provide the only information from which the judges will base their decisions.

Describe the importance of the nominee's contribution in their field or community.
Describe who benefited from the nominee's contribution.
Describe how the nominee became a role model in the community and has inspired others.

Additional Notes

  • Nominees will be contacted to confirm acceptance of the nomination.
  • Nominees will be put through a screening process.
  • Separate nominations may be submitted for as many individuals, businesses or groups as desired.

  • Nominator’s identity will remain anonymous.

Ineligible Nominees

  1. Municipal, Provincial, or Federal Politicians presently holding office.
  2. Individuals who are on the Community Awards Planning Committee.
  3. Individuals, organizations or businesses that have won an award in the same category in the past three years.
  4. Nominations that do not have adequate information describing why the nominee should be considered for an award.
  5. Nominees who nominate themselves.
  6. Nominee who is being recognized for their paid role or duties. If a person is nominated on behalf of their professional roles and responsibilities (paid position), the nomination would go to the organization or business the individual works for, and the individual would then become the main point of contact.
