100 Street Corridor - Phase 5

Start Date: April 15, 2024

End Date: Fall 2024

Project Status:

Under construction

Budget: $9.75 million | Funded by the Peace River Agreement and water and sewer reserves

Project Description:

The fifth and final phase of the 100 Street Corridor project includes the upgrading of the below and above-ground upgrades on 100 Street between 103 Avenue and 105 Avenue.

The underground infrastructure on 100 Street is aging and needs to be upgraded, and with the necessary construction required, the City conducted a significant public engagement process in 2019 to hear from the community about how to improve the aboveground public spaces. 100 Street will continue to operate as a major transportation corridor within the city – functional for people and cars – and, at the same time, it will become more attractive and enjoyable to support a strong and vibrant downtown.

During construction, all businesses will remain open; however, their access may be modified slightly. Obey all signage and traffic control people.

Learn more about the project by visiting the 100 Street Corridor Major Projects page.

Road Closure:

Beginning Monday, April 15, 2024, 100 Street north of 103 Avenue to north of 105 Avenue will be closed. View the detour map below:

BC Transit Changes:

Routes 1, 3 and 5 are impacted by the road closure - they will reroute onto 98 Street, where temporary bus stops will be set up.
