Community Safety Academy

The City of Fort St. John Community Safety Academy's mission is to empower our youth to be community safety conscious. This academy is designed to provide children from Kindergarten to Grade 6 the education and leadership to be our fire safety wardens in the community.

Our program is designed to focus on home fire safety to help educate our recruit on the importance of:

  • Fire prevention
  • Identifying hazards in their homes and community
  • Knowing what to do when they identify a hazard
  • Learning what to do in the event of a fire
  • Learn and practice a home fire escape plan

Graduates of our fire safety academy will receive:

  • A Certificate of Graduation and Commitment to Community Safety
  • A Fort St John Fire Department helmet
  • A Fire Safety colouring book and crayons
  • A Fire Safety Warden Sticker Badge
  • A Home Fire Safety Checklist

Each graduating class will be featured on the City of Fort St. John Fire Department Facebook page showcasing their commitment to Community Safety.
