Neighbourhood Small Grants
In partnership with the North Peace Community Foundation, the City of Fort St. John is offering the Neighbourhood Small Grants program on a pilot basis. This program was developed by the Vancouver Foundation and provides a simple but powerful strategy called grassroots grantmaking to help people make positive changes in their communities.
Neighbourhood Small Grants are small-scale, community-based grants designed to kickstart our community’s imagination and create connections within neighbourhoods. Projects funded by the Neighbourhood Small Grants program must be free, accessible, and welcoming for all. Up to $500 is available to individuals to undertake projects that form friendships and make our communities safer and more vibrant.
Sample projects could include:
- winter celebrations
- movie or music night
- neighbour get-together
- Arts & Culture skill-sharing
