Mechanical Failure Closes North Peace Leisure Pool

November 19, 2021

Earlier today, the controller on the main HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) unit at the North Peace Leisure Pool failed. A new controller has been sourced from Winnipeg; however, the North Peace Leisure Pool will be closed until Wednesday to allow for the controller unit to be delivered and installed.

“We appreciate the patience and understanding of our users and residents who are directly impacted by this unplanned closure and are working as hard as possible to minimize the impact,” stated Karin Carlson, Director of Community Services.

In addition, a planned BC Hydro power outage will cause a closure to the North Peace Leisure Pool later this month as they replace some of their equipment in the area. The pool will close at 7:30 pm on Monday, November 29 and reopen at 2 pm on Tuesday, November 30. All lessons, classes and courses will be cancelled during this period and refunds will be issued where applicable.

Further updates regarding these closures can be found on the City’s website (www.fortstjohn.ca) or the City of Fort St. John Recreation Facebook page (www.facebook.com/CityFSJRecreation).
