The Geographical Information System (GIS) Technician is responsible for supporting the ongoing maintenance, analysis and dissemination of data for the municipal GIS and associated systems, including Asset Management Systems (AMS). The GIS Technician position supports the GIS Technologist and City of Fort St John staff in various projects maintaining and developing the City’s GIS and AMS. Tasks include on-screen digitizing, data entry, building and maintaining databases, field data collection, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) of data, and assisting in the development of GIS and AMS application design and implementation. |
