Reporting to the Director of Legislative and Administrative Services, the Deputy City Clerk is responsible for assisting the Director in both administering the activities of the Legislative and Administrative Services Department and supervising departmental staff. The Deputy City Clerk undertakes research and compiles Council reports, agendas, minutes and follow-up. The Deputy City Clerk actively participates in elections and referendums and interacts closely with Council members, staff and the client public. In the absence of the Director of Legislative and Administrative Services, the Deputy City Clerk performs statutory duties as outlined in the Community Charter and other relevant statutes.
