The TUNNEL arrives in Fort St. John

Fort St. John will welcome The TUNNEL, an interactive LED public art installation, starting Thursday, February 15, near the stage in Centennial Park.
This international exhibit has recently travelled through the USA and Australia, and is only making this one stop in northern British Columbia. The 100 foot exhibit will light up the park during the annual High on Ice Winter Fest and remain on site until March 3 for locals and visitors to enjoy.
The TUNNEL utilizes a custom, interactive console that allows you to become the “pilot”, guiding other guests through the experience by taking control of the array. Each button controls a unique aspect of the light programming, including speed, colour, fade and patterns, allowing “pilots” to tailor a custom and unique experience. The giant light structure will also run autonomously for hours on end.
"After the 2023 launch of our City Arts and Culture Framework, we are excited to bring our winter city another interactive public art installation– it will be a focal point that brings people together and builds community connections,” stated Eryn Griffith, Arts and Culture Manager for the City of Fort St. John.
The TUNNEL is a BIG ART Work, on a global tour produced by Creos.
This temporary public art installation is funded in part by a grant received from the Government of Canada and by local sponsorship from CN, Co-op, Tourmaline, and AltaGas.
