Community Feedback sought for Economic Development Strategy

January 12, 2023

Residents and business owners are asked to share their ideas about boosting the economy and enhancing the quality of life via an Economic Development Strategy community survey.

The Strategy, scheduled to be completed this spring, will guide efforts to support and grow existing businesses and attract new investment. It also aims to connect the dots to a broader community development action plan that enables job creation, including placemaking, advanced broadband, housing choice and affordability, and more flexible commercial form and function for today’s entrepreneurs needing more nimble solutions.

So far, the Let’s Talk Economic Development engagement work has completed interviews with community and business leaders, a community leaders workshop, and data analysis of competitive economic sectors. From this, some key themes have emerged, and the City has launched a survey to gather feedback from residents. The survey includes visioning for the future and sharing ideas about opportunities.

“Through your input, we are looking forward to an Economic Development Strategy that embraces big ideas to set our City apart and focuses on clear actions to support our future,” said Mayor Lilia Hansen.
