The annual Santa Claus parade falls on the first Saturday in December. Each year the City of Fort St. John sees approximately 35 to 60 floats rolling down 100 Street showing off their Christmas Spirit. The Santa Claus parade estimates crowds of up to 6,000 people viewing on the sides of the parade. These people who come down to line the parade route stay for the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in Centennial park with outdoor activities for the whole community. The tree light-up ceremony, with complimentary hot dogs, hot chocolate and entertainment in Centennial Park is something you don’t want to miss.
