2020 BC Winter Games

The City of Fort St John has been awarded as the host city for the 2020 BC Winter Games which will take place in Fort St John February 20-23, 2020. Fort St. John will host the BC Winter Games for the first time in 35 years, which will see up to 1,800 volunteers responsible for planning and staging the Games. The games will be attended by up to 1,200 athletes, 300 coaches and 200 officials with an estimated economic impact at $1.6-million.

The BC Winter Games are British Columbia’s biennial celebration of sport and community bringing together British Columbia’s best emerging high-performance athletes, trained coaches, and certified officials for four days of competition. This experience is an important development opportunity and stepping stone towards higher level sport competitions. Sports will include everything from archery and badminton to speed skating to cross country skiing and alpine skiing.
