High on Ice Winter Fest kicks off Friday!

February 10, 2021

The 2021 High on Ice Winter Fest is coming up this Family Day Long Weekend! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been many alterations to the event, and you are encouraged to read about the event before heading out of the house.

Highlights of this weekend’s festival include a drive-thru to view the ice sculptures, business passport program, free skating, free swimming, Cross Country Skiing, activity BINGO, contests, crafts, and much more!

The 100 Street access to the North Peace Leisure Pool will remain closed until Tuesday, February 16. Access to the event drive-thru and pool parking lot is available via 96 Avenue. The ice sculpture drive-thru will open at 4 pm on Friday, February 12.

Due to an overhead structure in the drive-thru, the maximum vehicle height permitted is 8.5 feet. Large trucks and commercial vehicles should not be brought to the drive-thru.

Other protocols for the drive-thru include:

  • All attendees must stay inside a vehicle at all times
  • Drivers must refrain from passing the car in front of you
  • Drivers must follow the route; it is one way only
  • Travel 15 km/h or slower
