City Youth Prepare for Youth Changing Tomorrow Conference

February 26, 2020

Youth and students from the Youth Advisory Council, North Peace Secondary School Student Council, Girls Can Talk, and WE Schools have been collaborating on a conference for local youth over the past few months. Over 100 students from across School District 60 will attend the Youth Changing Tomorrow Conference on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at the Northern Lights College, Fort St. John Campus.

The conference, happening during school hours, covers various youth-specific topics such as leadership, inclusion, financial literacy, and health and wellness. It features a panel discussion and various concurrent sessions, including the popular Urban Systems Foundations Growing Our Own mentorship event.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for our community’s youth to come together for a day of inspiration, personal growth, and community building,” said Councillor Becky Grimsrud, a Council Liaison for the Youth Advisory Council.

The Youth Changing Tomorrow Conference would not be possible without the support from our event partners; Urban Systems Foundations, Northern Lights College, School District 60, Peace River Hydro Partners, and the BC Principals’ and Vice-Principals’ Association.
