May 11, 2020

Fort St. John City Council is committed to the City’s succession planning program, and are undertaking recruitment for a new Chief Administrative Officer. Council aims to be leaders in our recruitment strategy and have recognized that succession planning is key to the City’s success.

Dianne Hunter, who has been with the City of Fort St. John for 13 years in the City Manager role, will assist Council through the recruitment process and transitionary period, while providing stability to the organization. Council is focused on identifying and growing talent to fill our business-critical positions and are committed to choosing the best candidate for the organization and for our community.

“Council, guided by our Strategic Plan, takes a planned and principled approach to decision making and this is another example of how we are planning for the future. By working with Dianne, we can ensure stability for the organization and community during the recruitment of a new Chief Administrative Officer that will take us into the future,” stated Mayor Lori Ackerman.

“I look forward to working with Council throughout this recruitment; to provide stability during the process and to help transition when a successful candidate is identified,” said City Manager Dianne Hunter.
