Reporting to the Corporate Officer, the Deputy Corporate Officer is responsible for assisting in both administering the activities and supervision of departmental staff of the Legislative Services Department. The Deputy Corporate Officer undertakes research and compiles Council reports, agendas, minutes and follow-up. The Deputy Corporate Officer actively participates in elections and referendums and interacts closely with Council members, staff and the client public. In the absence of the Corporate Officer, the Deputy Corporate Officer performs statutory duties as outlined in the Community Charter and other relevant statutes.
Qualified candidates must have a Certificate or Diploma in Public Administration. Preference will be given to candidates in possession of, or in the process of obtaining BC Board of Examiners Certificate in Local Government Service Delivery and BC Board of Examiners Certificate in Local Government Statutory Administration. A minimum of five years administrative experience gained in the capacity of a Deputy or Corporate Officer in local government. Candidates must also possess a valid Class 5 BC drivers license.
