Careers in Fire Service

How to become a firefighter?

When someone calls 9-1-1 they expect our crews to arrive trained and equipped to respond to their emergency regardless of what it may be.

In addition to fires, Fire Departments have become the first call for most people when there is an emergency in the community that falls outside of the other Emergency Services Agencies primary role.

From combating fires, extricating people from their vehicles, dealing with hazardous goods spills, rappelling off buildings, containing hazardous spills, assisting with medical emergencies, and entering confined spaces your Firefighters need to be ready to respond 24/7. There are hundreds of individual and company skills that need to be learned, mastered, and maintained in order for our firefighter to provide assistance when you call.
