Description: 

Kids learn attitudes and skills that could one day save a life their life, or someone else. The Junior Lifeguard Club (JLC) is designed to let kids participate in activities similar to those of real lifeguards in a safe, fun and controlled setting. But just as important, kids experience teamwork and a sense of belonging. They become part of a club, the Junior Lifeguard Club. The Junior Lifeguard Club is a place for kids to:

  • Learn about lifesaving and life guarding
  • Enjoy friendly competition and special events
  • Challenge themselves to aim for personal bests
  • Hang out
  • Get fit
  • Make friends
  • Have a great time!

The Junior Lifeguard Club is a unique program, designed as a coaching environment of long-term goals and short-term personal best achievements.

Prerequisites:

  • Age 8+
  • Can swim 1 length of the pool - 25 meters
  • Can tread water for 1 minute without stopping
  • Swim Kids Level 4

Introducing Mer-tail Club! Geared for youth ages 8 - 13 who have completed the equivalentt of Red Cross Swim Kids Level 4, MTC members will have  the opportunity to fulfill thier fantasy of being a Mermaid of Merman! participants will recieve in-class training on how to swim like a true merperson, as well as a packaged merperson bundle which includes: thier very own Mermaid/merman Tail (to keep!), a Monofin and a backpack made specifically to pack thier tail. Come join the fun today! The first class consists of safety training and brushin up on how to swim with ankles held together, as well as a sizing session so we can order your custom fin.

Our instructor Teri is a kinesiologist who specializes in how your body should move. She will guide you through a strength workout but will ensure your form is proper and safe. Additionally, you will figure out how much weight you should be taking on and how to work out ALL your muscles effectively. This program is great for beginners but a great for any gym goer!
