This is a combination course that will teach the Bronze Star portion
first, followed immediately by the Bronze Medallion portion.
Candidates are taught about how to make Water Smart choices and
learn basic lifesaving and resuscitation skills needed to be their own
personal lifeguard. Bronze Medallion teaches an understanding of the
lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water rescue
education: judgment, knowledge, skill and fitness. Rescuers learn
advanced lifesaving techniques for challenging rescues of increased
risk, involving conscious and unconscious victims in varying water
depths. Participants develop stroke efficiency and endurance in timed
swims (500 meters). Includes CPR-A.
Prerequisites: Ability to complete a 500 meter timed swim

Learn to play Ping Pong with instructor Faisal with a focus on basic table tennis skills. We will provide you with all the required equipment. This is FREE for 16 years and up.

Pool Operator - Level 1
This course provides in-class and hands-on experience for those involved or wishing to be involved in swimming pool operations. In the municipal aquatics field and Private sector, this course is a minimum requirement and is recognized by the Provincial Health Authority for meeting the minimum Health Act training requirement. Topics include water circulation equipment, pool volume calculations, basic chlorine chemistry, Langlier Saturation Index, water balance, water testing, safe handling and storage of pool chemicals. Participants should bring a calculator to class. Successful candidates will receive the Level I Swimming Pool Operator certificate which is recognized interprovincially through the Western Facility Operators Master Certificate Program.

The Workplace Emergency First Aid course (also known as Occupational First Aid Level 1 or OFA 1) is a hands-on interactive 1 day course that teaches workers how to deal with the most common workplace first-aid emergencies. Workplace Emergency First Aid includes CPR Level A (adult skills), choking procedures as well as emergency scene management, dealing with shock, spinal injuries, minor wound management, major bleeding, internal bleeding, poisons and minor burns. Students will also be trained to use an AED
(Automated External Defibrillator).
