Travel and Tourism Along the Alaska Highway

Description: 

Learn about travel and tourism along the Alaska Highway from the first tourists in 1948 to current and future tourism initiatives happening along the highway. Presentations will feature historic photographs as well as historic poems about travelling the highway.

Garry Oker will discuss the development of an interpretive site at Tse’KWa (Charlie Lake Cave). Ross Peck will talk about his family’s lodge, Trutch Lodge, along the Alaska Highway. Heather Sjoblom will share stories of early travellers and tourists along the highway.
