150 Years of Resilience

Description:

The Indigenous peoples of North America are resilient. Residential Schools & Indigenous Child Removal programs operated between the 1870’s and 1990’s, with the explicit intent to assimilate Indigenous people and annihilate Indigenous Culture and traditions. Despite this, Indigenous peoples in Treaty 8 Territory, and in Canada beyond, have succeeded in maintaining their spirit and Nation by continuing to build strong communities, families, and lives. Please join us in celebrating 150 years of resilience on June 30th, 2017 with a free public BBQ and gathering at Nenan Dane zaa Deh Zona Family Services Society.
