Community Awards

The purpose of the Community Awards Program is to publicly recognize and honor individuals whose contributions have been of significant benefit to Fort St John.  The awards celebrate the talents, dedication and generosity of our outstanding citizens, businesses, athletes, and volunteers whose unique gifts have contributed so greatly to life in Fort St John.

The Community Awards Program is administered by a Community Awards Committee made up of representatives of various community organizations, supported by City staff.  By incorporating other community organizations, we utilize each representative's expertise in their areas, and the Committee has a team of informed, knowledgeable decision makers for determining award recipients.  In addition, the support of the community organizations assists in ensuring all those deserving of recognition are represented, and help to sustain the overall project for years to come.

Nomination forms are available from the City of Fort St. John, and will be accepted at City Hall until 4:00pm on April 1, 2010.  Nominees are then evaluated by the Community Awards Committee and all awards are presented publicly at the gala awards dinner held during Volunteer Canada's National Volunteer Week, April 15, 2010 at the Pomeroy Hotel. Tickets for the event will be on sale as of April 1, 2010.
