Pitch In Week May 10- 14th

Pitch In Day is on May 13th - groups from around the community will be lending a hand to give the City a Spring clean!

The Peace River Regional District is changing its spring and fall bulky waste cleanup program to reduce costs and improve service to the public. A new coupon system was introduced to replace the traditional cleanup program. In April a set of 4 coupons will be mailed to all landowners with improvements (i.e.buildings/barn), in both rural and municipal areas of the District.  Visit www.prrd.bc.ca for more information.

Arbour Day - May 19

Come on down to the North Peace Leisure Pool parking lot between 5:00pm and 7:00pm to receive a beautiful tree for you front yard.

Trees will be subsidized for a cost of $25 per tree. 1 tree per household. Must show current valid address on ID. Trees are on a first come first serve basis.

Flower Pot Auction - June 13

The Fort St. John Community Arts Council in partnership with the City of Fort St. John lines the streets each year with 100 hand-painted flower pots overflowing with beautiful blooms. Half of the pots are new each year, and the older half are sold at a public auction after they have been on the streets for two years.

Be sure to get your very own pot at this year’s Flower Pot Auction, set for Centennial Park on Sunday, June 13.  Proceeds of the auction go to the Fort St. John Community Arts Council and the member groups that help organize it.    The City of Fort St. John provides the pots and the planting of the flowers, and the Arts Council enlists the help of local artists to decorate them, and solicits sponsorship of $100 for each pot. The entire program raises funds for the arts in Fort St. John and adds unparalleled beauty to our downtown city streets.
