The Community Services Department is responsible the City of Fort St John's internal and external communications, advertising, visitor information, tourism development, recreation & healthy living programming, the North Peace Leisure Pool, North Peace Arena and Enerplex programming, and community special events and projects.
Recreation Programming in Fort St. John
The City of Fort St. John is committed to providing opportunities that contribute and enhance the quality of life of the community. This is organized by offering fun, healthy activities and encouraging healthy living for our community from preschool to seniors. There are a number of recreation programs in a wide range of categories, many activities such as fitness, skating and swimming.

Other Arts, Culture and Recreation facilities
Rotary Spray Park - 9505 - 100 Street- The Fort St. John Rotary Spray Park is free to the public. It is an unsupervised facility, open from 10 am - 9pm during the summer months.
Curling Club - 9504 - 96 Street - An eight-sheet curling rink in the heart of Centennial Park offering Junior, Adult and Senior Curling leagues. For info about Fort St. John Curling Club contact 250-785-2037.
The Gymnastics Club - 9805 - 96 Avenue - is operated as a partnership with the City. The Club offers gymnastics programs for all ages. Click Here for the North Peace Gymnastics Association website.
Library - 10015 - 100th Avenue - The Fort St. John Library is located in the Cultural Centre with an inventory of 66,639 books, the library strives to fulfill its mission: "Promoting self-education, personal enlightenment and social and economic well-being through the pursuit of knowledge and the exchange of ideas." www.pris.bc.ca/library
Fort St. John North Peace Museum -9323 - 100 Street - The museum traces Fort St. John's history, from the establishment of the first fort to the building of the Alaska Highway through to the discovery of oil and gas. The Museum is open year round.

Fish Creek Community Forest - behind Northern Lights College - is an excellent place to go for a walk or bike ride and enjoy nature. There are three trails of varying lengths to suit different abilities. Access to the trails is just off of 100 Street, behind Northern Lights College.
The North Peace Cultural Centre - 10015 100th Ave - The NPCC is home to a 400 seat theatre that offers numerous theatrical performances, musical events, concerts, and traveling shows throughout the year.
Skateboard Park - 9325 - 100 Street - The Fort St. John Skateboard Park is located in the heart of Centennial Park. All users of this park are strongly urged to use safety equipment including helmets. Rules of use for this facility are posted on site. The park is opened from 6:00 am to 10:00pm daily.
