Welcome to the Energetic City where there is always something to do! At the City of Fort St. John Visitor Centre, it is the job of the trained staff to keep up-to-date on all that is happening in the city and around the area, so that the most current information can be passed on to visitors and local people.
Services and Information Available:
- A large variety of complimentary brochures on BC, Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Vacation Planners for across Canada to help you plan your vacation.
- Great selection of free maps and road maps for purchase to keep you from getting lost!
- The connections to look up the most up-to-date, road, weather, and transportation information.
- Souvenir shop: local books, locally made products such as jam and honey, Super Natural BC merchandise, and City of Fort St. John goodies.
- Free public computers with internet access to use in researching your holiday or checking your email.
- Information Packages made for people thinking of moving to the area; to businesses recruiting new employees; tourism packages for people visiting the area; and packages for conferences and sporting events. Or, if you are hosting a wedding or reunion in town, the Visitor Centre can mail packages to your out-of-town guests with accommodation information, maps, and activities.
- Compilation of the Community Events Calendar, which is promoted through Northern BC Tourism, Tourism BC, local media, and distributed to local people and visitors passing through the area; if the City of Fort St. John Visitor Centre doesn't know about your event, we can't send people to it!

Fort St. John attracts many types of people, from Europeans looking for wilderness adventures, to Americans travelling the world-famous Alaska Highway , to families spending the weekend in the Energetic City for sports tournaments.
The city features excellent, year-round sports facilities, an active arts community that is showcased at the North Peace Cultural Centre, and hundreds of events throughout the year for everyone to enjoy. For historians, the Fort St. John North Peace Museum offers a look back at the pioneer days of Fort St. John , the start of the oil and gas exploration in the area, and the construction of the Alaska Highway .
