Red Cross Swim offers an approach to learning to swim that balances water safety awareness and knowledge, with swimming strokes training and fitness. Under Red Cross Swim we have a number of programs: Red Cross Swim Preschool, for babies four to six months of age to 5-year-old children, and Red Cross Swim Kids for six-year-old children and older. For adults and teens the swimming programs are designed to meet your individual needs.

Adapted Aquatics Course - September 11, 12, 13 (call for pricing)
Many doctors or physiotherapists recommend that their patients exercise in water. Often these discharged patients are too well for the medics to spend time with but too scared to take part in "normal" activities. This course is intended to help aquatic instructors gain an awareness of the potential problems that can arise when these individuals take part in water based exercise programs. By being more aware of several common conditions and the problems they can present, the instructor can create a more positive experience not only for these people but for the whole class as well.
The course reviews basic anatomy and water principles, contraindications for water exercise, health screening and reducing barriers to inclusion. Some specific conditions covered are: arthritis, joint replacements, osteoporosis, stroke, brain injury, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, ageing, obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular concerns and pulmonary concerns.
Aqua Fitness Instructor - August 21, 22, 23 (call for pricing)
