Parade Application Form

The City of Fort St. John is extending an invitation to local organization and businesses to participate in the 2024 Canada Day Parade on Monday, July 1. Celebrate this great nation and show off your national pride by decorating a float for the parade!

Parade participants will be required to gather at 10am on July 1 to. Marshalling takes place on 110 Avenue/Peace River Road. At 11am, the procession will head south on 98 Street, turn west onto 103 Avenue, and head south down 100 Avenue and turn onto 96 Avenue to de-marshall via the North Peace Arena parking lot. 

The parade's success depends entirely on volunteer participation! If your business or organization is interested in entering a float, submit your application below no later than Monday, June 23 at 8am. This online application form will be removed immediately after the deadline in order for staff to prepare.

In addition to our festivities, there will be a “mini parade” at Peace Villa at around 1:00pm on July 1. If you’d like to participate in the mini parade, check the box in the form.

Parade Rules:

  • Parade marshalling will take place at 10 am in the 110 Avenue/Peace River Road Area
  • All entries must be decorated
  • The City of Fort St. John has the right to refuse entries that depict controversial and inappropriate material
  • Organization/business name must be visible to spectators
  • Height restriction of floats is 14 feet from ground level
  • Giveaways, including treats, MUST BE HANDED OUT by walkers (must be 16 years of age to be a walker in the parade)
  • Please do not distribute brochures, flyers or other written or printed material
  • Float passengers riding on a trailer may only ride during the designating parade route and may NOT remain on the float
